Andrew Browning and the 9 Pound Hammers – “Econoline”

Americana Highways presents this premiere of Andrew Browning & the 9 Pound Hammers’ song “Econoline” from his forthcoming album Love is a Beautiful Thing, which is due to be released on November 22. “Econoline” will be available on October 4. Love is a Beautiful Thing was produced and engineered by Derek O’Brien (Social Distortion); also engineered by Sejo Navas; recorded at 4th Street Recording, D.O.B Sound, and Clearlake Recording Studios; and mastered by Brian Lucey.

Musicians on  “Econoline” are Andrew Browning on vocals and guitars; Derek O’Brien on drums; Alex Arkhipov on bass; Jake Abernathie on organ; Randy Volin on guitar; Buzzy James on guitar; Belle Johnson on backing vocals; and Anjolee Williams on backing vocals.

With a gripping blues rock foundation and sizzling electric slide, this song anchors love in a powerful form of expression: “keep me warm in the econoline, cover me with love when the thunder rolls and the lightning strikes.”  We can all get behind love on the road in an Econoline van, and Andrew Browning makes us want to pack up for the journey.

The fairytales we learn about love and life are that they always come in neatly gift-wrapped packages. As we grow, we learn that love and life are messy, selfish, and hard. Econoline is a song about love on the fringes of society and the beauty and humanity that exist in the harsh places. – Andrew Browning
