Jeremy Dion – “Bend in the Middle”
Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Jeremy Dion’s song “Bend in the Middle,” the title track from his forthcoming album set for release next month. Bend in the Middle was recorded at Cinder Sound Studios in Longmont Colorado. It was produced, engineered and mixed by Kyle Donovan, and mastered by Mark Fuller.
“Bend in the Middle” is Jeremy Dion on lead vocals and guitar; Kate Farmer on backing vocals; Christian Teele on percussion; Bradley Morse on bass; Taylor Sims on guitar; and Eric Moon on keyboards.
This video was produced, shot and edited by Daniel Herman of Mineral Sound Studios; and filmed at Cinder Sound Studios in Longmont Colorado. Jeremy’s background as a therapist comes through here in this song “we can tune into goodness again by loving all the parts that don’t fit…. the battle comes if you don’t start to bend in the middle.” It’s such good advice, that is so needed, played over music that’s effervescent without being programmatic. The video captures the joyful, synergistic energy of the band.
About the song: “The theme song to my life as a therapist. This song embodies so much of what I talk to clients about on a regular basis – learning how to love the parts of us that don’t seem to fit the mold, that we tried to hide or cut-off in our upbringing. Healing and integration are one and the same, and getting our eyes off of what others are doing and what they think about what we are doing is vital.”
About the video: “We had the best time filming the video for the title track, ‘Bend in the Middle.’ Our only goal was to have fun, and to capture the playful energy of the song. We were all in the pocket on this one, and were able to capture what we wanted in a few simple takes. I’m also really pleased that the genuine connection between the players is palpable on the video.
