Long Prairie – “Seamlessly”

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Long Prairie’s song “Seamlessly” from her forthcoming album By Sunrise, which is set to be released on October 4.  The album, By Sunrise, was produced, mixed and mastered by Omar Vallejo at 512 Studios in Austin.  Long Prairie, named after the city in Northern Minnesota where she was born, is now honing her songcraft in Texas, assuming a name that identifies the centrality of natural places and spaces in her songwriting.

“Seamlessly” is Long Prairie on vocals and guitar; Haydn Vitera on piano and cello; and Omar Vallejo on harmony vocals.  “There’s something powerful that has a stronghold… from the beginning of time….I’m coming back for more, you’ve got me wrapped around your finger.”  Everybody has felt the longing that this song identifies, when the pair is on unequal footing and one seems to reach and strive more than the other.  Nicely played, and nicely done.

This song was inspired by Brother IZ’s “White Sandy Beach of Hawaii” written by Duc Huy “Willie Dan.” I wanted to write a song with that similar kind of heartfelt soul and beach vibe. – Long Prairie
