Connor Daly – Colors Fade

Hailing from Virginia,  Connor Daly has crafted tender and merciful country style songs for his latest release Colors Fade. A collection of heartaches, heartbreaks, caring for our fellow humans and picturesque landscape metaphors, this album confronts life’s difficulties with a gentle resignation.

“Ain’t Got A Cape” launches the album with gentle acoustic guitar, and Connor’s mournful vocals singing of a loss: “those brown leaves tryin to stay on the tall trees, it’s kinda like you hanging on me, and then a big gust came and off you went.”Sometimes we can’t help others the way we wish we could.  In “She’s My Summer Sky” the easy acoustic style remains prominent, and this one is a love song, beautifully written: “she’s a cold sip of sweet tea breaking the heat in mid-July.”

“Roots” is a lilting song of homage to a family member who’s passed on.  “I love the changing of the seasons just like you do, and I still fill that fireplace with wood I cut with you, a storm came and the tree fell down too soon, but it left behind good roots.”

“Fake One Tear” features Mary Heather Hickman on vocal duet of heartbreak “I guess giving you my heart for all these years wasn’t enough for you to fake one tear.” The title track continues the seasonal reflections and landscape metaphors and the wistful message “sometimes colors fade when you don’t want them to.”

Connor writes sincere quality songs, mostly of heartaches and sometimes of good times with lovely landscape analogies and just the right turns of phrase .  Find the music here: https://linktr.ee/connordalymusic
