Clear plucks and oh-so-subtle keys create a rich musical milieu for this song, and then the lyrical imagery starts to build: “dog’s hanging out the window as we pass the Dairy Queen blasting Brandi Carlile on repeat… you were sitting right beside me… I don’t want to waste these moments….” This song pulls everyday images into ruminations and realizations that we need to savor every moment, as the implicit message begins to emerge more clearly: get out of your own way, get out of your head and just be here now.
This song was so much fun to record. We brought the house down with it and I really leaned into my soulful roots for this one. – Molly Stevens
