R.P. Mixon – “Thank You”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of R.P. Mixon’s song “Thank You” from his forthcoming album due to be released this summer.  The album was produced by R.P. Mixon; engineered by Jim Salamone (Cambridge Studios, The Barn) and Brendan McGeehan (Elm Street Studios); mixed by Sylvia Massy (Jason Isbell) of Oddio Shop Studio; and mastered by Jim Salamone.

“Thank You” is R.P. Mixon on lead vocals, acoustic guitar and bass; Charlene Holloway on backing vocals; David Lenat on electric guitar; Chad Gustafson on organ; and Ritchie DeCarlo on drums.

Easy Southern rock echoing the beloved style of The Band, with power organ sounds and a hearty groove, capture your attention right from the start. This song is a real keeper, as it crescendoes:  “I wanna thank you once again for the first time, and for the last time, ‘good-bye’,” and traces the frustration of a relationship that was once so good, turning out to be just so disappointing in the end.

“Thank You” is a relatable song. We’ve all had those relationships that started out with so much hope and promise but ended with a frustrated ‘So long and thanks for all the memories. It’s time for me to move on.’ – R. P. Mixon
