Floramay Holliday – “My Best Friend”
Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Floramay Holiday’s song “My Best Friend,” written for her husband and recorded with members of the New Bohemians. This song will be released on May 9th, and is part of her forthcoming album Song to Myself, which will be released on May 17. The album was produced by Floramay and recorded by Jim King at Kessler Studios in Dallas, and mixed and mastered by Will Holland (Pixies, Dead Can Dance) at Chilhouse studios in Charleston MA.
“My Best Friend” is Floramay Holliday on guitar and vocals; Kenny Withrow (New Bohemians) on guitar; Brad Houser, who has recently passed away, (New Bohemians) on bass; John Bush (New Bohemians) on drums; and Matt Hubbard (Willie Nelson) on keys. This song has a gripping electric roots groove, a bop and it’ll make you want to dance at the anniversary party. Wonderful. “I want to thank you for letting me be me, and for just being you…” The video was recorded with clips from Floramay’s wedding and shots by Daniel Rockey for a lively nostalgic montage we can all relate to.
“My Best Friend” was written and released in time for my 20th wedding anniversary with my husband, Gabor J. Racz. A celebration of love that’s survived trials and tribulations, this song is an upbeat pop/rock track from the new album that uplifts and inspires. After converting old VHS tapes from our ceremony and adding fresh footage by Daniel Rockey, the video is a compilation of us over the years, playing music and dancing, two of our favorite things. – Floramay Holliday
