Mikey Wayne – “Moving On”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Mikey Wayne’s song “Moving On,” from his forthcoming album. The album was produced and mixed by Rogers Masson (Audrey Sound); engineered by Julian Dreyer (Echo Mountain Studios); and mastered by Adam Ayan (Ayan Mastering). It was recorded at Echo Mountain Studios.
“Movin’ On” is Mikey Wayne on vocals and guitar; and was co-written by Mikey Wayne Collingsworth and Rogers Masson. This video was directed with direction of photography by Jonathan Phelps. Jared Gehman was gaffer and behind the scenes set content by Jared Gehman.
Born in Southern California, raised in Alabama, and homesteading in Nashville has resulted in a gritty Southern blend. His high optimistic vocals bring a sunshine to his songs, and this video captures the sunshine literally, shining through the window and with its rays spotlighting his well worn, bright sounding Guild guitar. “We’re moving’ on, we both have our reasons for to stop us from leaving … this time we’re running fast, we’re moving’ on.” Sometimes the best thing to do is go your separate ways in life. There’s a maturity here with no sentimentality.
“Moving On” tackles the harsh acceptance of when fantasy gives way to reality in a relationship. The reality being, it’s more loving and mature for two adults to amicably go separate ways instead of trying to repair something that will most likely stay broken. Knowing when to recognize that reality is the hardest part. – Mikey Wayne
