Rowdy McCarran – “I Drink”
Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Rowdy McCarran’s song “I Drink,” from his forthcoming album Here, which is due to be released on February 9. Here was produced, mixed and arranged by Rob Hegel and Bobby Ferrari; engineered and mastered by Bobby Ferrari. and recorded at Skeleton Key Studio in Las Vegas.
“I Drink” is Rowdy McCarran on vocals; Alex Papa on drums; Eric Runquist on bass; Jerry Tomlinson and Denny Mishler on guitars; and Ian Clark on fiddle.
The video was created by Levy Production Group, and it was filmed on location at The Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings, Nevada. Rowdy McCarran sings this song with a grin: “treat someone like a goddess and it don’t work out so well… I drink to forget the way she held me, and then I drink and I forget her for awhile.” Lots of footage both outside in the arid Nevada landscape and inside the oldest bar in Nevada lends a timelessness visual support to this wry, lightly humorous, and all too relatable song. “Just because I miss her doesn’t mean I can’t move on.” Good hometown music.
I DRINK, written by Rob Hegel, is a fun, let loose, have-a-good-time party song. The video was filmed by Mike Levy Productions in Las Vegas at the oldest bar in Nevada (The Pioneer Saloon). I DRINK touches your funny bone and gives you a groove where you just can’t sit still. I hope you enjoy I DRINK as much as I love performing it. – Rob Hegel
