Emma Jo – “Walk (Live)”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Emma Jo’s song “Walk (Live)” from her recently released album Girl Bandit. Girl Bandit was produced by Craig Wilson, mixed and engineered by Charlie Chamberlain at Forty-One Fifteen in Nashville; and mastered by David Browning. The song was written by Emma Jo and Craig Wilson.
“Walk (Live)” is Emma Jo on vocals; Craig Wilson on acoustic guitar and organ; Charlie Chamberlain on electric guitar; John Salaway on drums and percussion; and Adam Beard on bass.
The video was produced by Rivera Studios, with footage shot at Nighthawk in Kansas City. Emma Jo has a powerful stage presence which this video captures, and the high energy song hits the empowerment button. It’ll pump up your courage and awaken your confidence, for sure. Rockin’ energy too.
“Walk” is the song for anyone who feels stuck in a toxic situation. It’s a pep talk and an action plan and it’s authentic as hell, because I’ve been there. I’ve walked through it, and I know the steps you have to take. For the video, I wanted to showcase the song being played live because the energy in the room when we play it is unforgettable and cathartic. Right before we play it, I always say: if you feel like you need someone’s permission to walk away from something, it’s your lucky night, because I’m handing out permission slips. That’s what this song is! It’s your permission slip to let go of anything that’s holding you back. – Emma Jo
