Caroline Cotter “Grounded In Love”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Caroline Cotter’s song “Grounded In Love” from her forthcoming album The Answer, which is set to be available in October. The album was produced by Zack Berkman (Ron Pope, The District) and Caroline Cotter.
“Grounded In Love” is Caroline Cotter on vocals and guitar; Jeff Picker on upright bass;
Zach Berkman on piano, organ, percussion, and nylon string guitar.
As Caroline tells us about this song, “I travel for a living, so I can’t put down roots the way most people do. For me, staying grounded is a practice – connecting to wherever I am, in whatever moment I’m in, hiking and hugging a tree (literally), jumping in the saltwater, feeling the sand or dirt beneath my feet. Laughing and learning from the people I’m with that day; this is what reminds me of the energy that connects us all.”
This song will uplift you in a finger snapping, optimistic number that’s still, for lack of a better work, grounded: “I’m grounded in me, I’m grounded in you, I’m grounded in light, I’m grounded in love.” The chorus is easy and memorable and the sentiment is lovely.
