“Life Starts With You” was written by Jim Duff and Megan Prather.
As Jim tells it: “Built as an epic story of love, perseverance, and new beginnings, the song follows an emotional journey through the streets of New York City, where hope emerges in unexpected places and life’s greatest challenges become opportunities for renewal.”
This song commemorates the power of new beginnings and a fresh start on love. A co-write with Megan Prather, the tale is set in New York City, and chronicles new hope arising out of a difficult inception, starting with “so we welcome village sunshine as it pours down in the room.” Duff worked on this song for more than two years before he got it right, even teaching himself piano to capture the sound in his imagination. All his devotion paid off admirably; it’s an enjoyable song.
