Leslie Waugh “Troubles On My Mind”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Leslie Waugh’s song “Troubles On My Mind” from her forthcoming album Night Bloom, which is set for release in August via Small Song Records of Houston. This song will be available on July 10. Night Bloom was produced by Pat Manske and Leslie Waugh and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Pat Manske. It was recorded at The Zone Recording Studio in Dripping Springs, Texas with additional recording at 1930 Studio in Houston, Texas.
“Troubles On My Mind” is Leslie Waugh on acoustic guitar and vocals; Dennis Ludiker on fiddle, mandolin, bass, electric and baritone guitars, and harmonium; Trevor Nealon on piano, B3 organ, and Wurlitzer; Lloyd Maines pedal steel and dobro; Pat Manske on drums, percussion, acoustic guitar, and bass; and Mark “Speedy” Gonzales on trombone.
Leslie told us a little about the song: “As the title implies, “Troubles on My Mind” is a hard luck story. I don’t know why, but I like writing songs about heartache. Once again love is elusive and heartbreak is ever present. I think this song really captures the heavy heart of a woman who has given up and given into her troubles.”
This is sunny, easygoing song about feelings that well up when things just can’t be repaired, and when trouble just keeps showing up anyway: “every man knocking on my front door is just looking for a place to hide, it’s a wonder I have given up, I’ve got troubles on my mind.”
