Fred Presley “My Greatest Disaster”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Fred Presley’s “My Greatest Disaster,” from his forthcoming album. It was co-produced by Eric M Lichter and Fred Presley; engineered by Guido Falivene; mixed by Eric M Lichter and mastered by Steve Wytas.
Musicians on “My Greatest Disaster” are Fred Presley on acoustic guitar and vocals; Eric M. Lichter on acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin and background vocals.
As Fred says, about the song, “I think we all have those things we did in our lives that hurt someone we really cared about and just wish we could take it all back. This song is about one of those times.”
This is a bittersweet song of sorrow and longing for what might have been, and knowing the pain was our own fault makes it all the more pointed. As Fred sings “I really loved you, Just how much you’ll probably never know, I can’t believe I let you go, I can still see you, With that look of sadness in your eyes, How could I ever make you cry.” It’s a true heartache, but it’s expressed in old timey freshness with lively mandolin to add beauty to the bittersweet mix. A nice song.
