Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of James Deely’s song “When It Rains,” from his forthcoming album The Nashville Sessions, set for release on September 25. The Nashville Sessions was produced by Doc Holiday at Owen Bradleys Barn, mixed by Joey DeMaio at Shore Fire Recording Studio, and mastered by Bruce Tunkel at BeanLand Studios.
“When It Rains” is James Deely on lead vocals and guitar; Eric “Roscoe” Ambel on lead and rhythm guitars; Layonne Holmes on vocals; Garry Tallent on bass; Jeff Kazee on piano and organ; Dale Martin Herr on guitar; Johnny Waken on guitar; Judy Tint on vocals; and Ron Krasinski on drums.

James tells us, “I had a great time Rocking this Song in the Studio with Eric “Roscoe” Ambel (Steve Earles/Joan Jett/Yayhoos/Bottlerockets) ripping up that Del Lords Guitar! And the great Layonne Holmes soulful singing, with Jeff Kazee’s whicked piano and organ!And my Man Ron Krasinski’s thundering drums! What a Blast!”
This is a roots rockin’ extravaganza with otherworldly cool harmonies punctuations of guitar and kickin’ piano. There’s flair, embellishment, and style a plenty. It feels like it’s just what we all need right now for what ails us.
