Circus Mind – “Waste of Time”

Americana Highways presents this premiere of Circus Mind’s song “Waste of Time” from their forthcoming album. “Waste of Time” was engineered and produced by Chris Fasulo, and mastered by Dave Roman at 4130 Mastering.

“Waste of Time” is Mark Rechler (songwriter) on keys and vocals; Dan Roth on drums; Mathew Fox on bass; Brian Duggan on guitar; Steve Finklestein on percussion; and Michael Amendola on sax.

With a ’60s poppy, Beatles-esque opening, this song quickly branches into a reflective jubilant set of observations on all the unfortunate ways we waste precious time. Saxophone joins the mix, the electric guitar melodies are smooth and groovy, and the harmonies are a whirling delight.

“Waste of Time’”is perhaps a humorous way to look at the angst and despair that us creative folks and indie artists can feel from all the forces working against us on our journey,” says the band. “The uphill battle of distraction, schedules, finance, promotion, organization, and social networking can make one question: why do we do this at all? It certainly isn’t for the money!”

“”Waste of Time” is a song about doubt. And the questioning of the abysmal music biz, and the struggles of the Indie artist and the lengths we go to just be heard or “liked”. – Mark Rechler
