Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Chip Oliphant, Susan Hickman, and Jason Allen’s song “Grit and Glory” from Chip’s forthcoming album Circle of Singles. Circle of Singles was produced by Will Braun, Chip Oliphant, and Jody Bartula, recorded at Stormy Cooper Media in Houston; and engineered and mixed by Will Braun. It was mastered by Jerry Tubb of Terra Nova Mastering in Austin.
Chip Oliphant, Jason Allen and Susan Hickman are the flagship artists and ambassadors for Four Sixes Ranch, and this song“Grit and Glory,” is a powerful anthem celebrating the unwavering spirit of the cowboy and relentless pursuit of success.
Inspired by the rich heritage of the Four Sixes Grit & Glory Ranch, one of the most storied and respected ranches in Texas history; the brand has been featured prominently in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, and Landman on Paramount+.
Musicians on “Grit & Glory” and Jason Allen on guitar; Stormy Cooper on bass; Randy Wall on keys and organ; Jody Bartula on fiddle; Walter Cross on drums; and Chip Oliphant, Jason Allen, Susan Hickman on vocals.
This video was produced and directed by Darwin Macon, and was filmed on the R-C Ranch in Angleton, Texas. “Grit and Glory” captures the essence of determination, resilience, and the highs and lows of life’s journey, as Western ideals. “Destiny is a product of your journey, so what’s your story? Mine is grit and glory.” Glorious footage of ranch life, both day and night, and the punchy, hard hitting messages about these Texas ideals, expressed in country rock style, are motivating and immediately memorable.
Being an ambassador of the ‘6666 Grit & Glory’ brand, I was inspired to create a song that exemplified the character of the legendary Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie, TX, owned by Taylor Sheridan. The song, ‘Grit and Glory’ stands as both a tribute to the Four Sixes brand and an anthem for anyone striving to rise above life’s challenges. Paying homage to the cowboy ethos, as a reminder that true success is built on strength and the will to keep going despite adversity. – Chip Oliphant
Tom Larsen, CEO of 6666 Grit & Glory notes, “We recruited Chip in 2023 to be part of our 6666 Grit & Glory Artist Showcase to create an authentic sound for our brand. Chip, Jason and Susan have exceeded our wildest expectations by bringing that vision to life with this song and video.”
