Moss Henry – “Don’t Tie Me Down”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Moss Henry’s song “Don’t Tie Me Down” from his forthcoming album Gone Away, which is due to be released on March 28. Gone Away was produced and mixed by Allen Clapp; co-produced by Taylor Lissandrello; mastered by Myles Boisen.
Musicians on “Don’t Tie Me Down” are Aaron Strickland on lead guitar; Jalil Jahantab on bass; Taylor Lissandrello on drums; and Moss Henry Xiques on rhythm guitar and vocals.
What you may not know is that Moss is a sea captain who sails the Virgin Islands, which gives the message of “Don’t Tie Me Down” an emphasis not quite everyone can add, and then this song is bluesy with slide guitar, and an ardent energy: “Don’t tie me down / I’m afraid of the ground / just loosen up and let me breathe.” The more we mature, the more what Moss is imparting here makes absolutely perfect sense. And the swift whirlwind of guitar playing is outstanding.
I love the feeling of being free that “Don’t Tie me down” brings out. There is nothing like the feeling you get in the moment you decide not to be a part of a bad situation or something that is holding down and that is what this song is about. – Moss Henry
