Aliza Hava “Into the Light”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Aliza Hava’s song “Into the Light” from her forthcoming album. The album was produced by multi-platinum Grammy winner Mikal Blue. This song was recorded at Revolver Recordings in Thousand Oaks, California, and will be available on January 17.

“Into the Light” is Aliza Hava on vocals; Dean Dinning (Toad the Wet Sprocket) on bass; Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr’s All-Star Band, Santana) on drums; Dalton Cyr on guitar and keys; and Mikal Blue on synths. Unspeakable things that happen to you can make you paralyzed, and then if you go into the light and speak your truth there can be a cathartic release, and you’ll “be all right / courage in the absence of fear.” Aliza expresses this all courageously in a Carly Simon-esque powerful vocal.

For most of my life, I was ashamed and afraid to talk about what happened to me as a child growing up in an extremely abusive household. Writing this song was part of my healing process. It helped me find the courage to speak up so that the past would not have such a powerful grip on me anymore. I hope its message reaches people who have been through similar things and helps them find their courage as well. – Aliza Hava
