Eddie Witz and the Most High – “Jamaica Time”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Eddie Witz and the Most High’s song “Jamaica Time,” from their forthcoming album I Am What I Am, due to be available later this year. I Am What I Am was produced by Eddie Witz, Wayne Jobson, Andrew Furze and Justin Gariano. It was engineered by Ric McRae, Mauricio Igagorri, Andrew Furze (Furzey), and Justin Gariano; and mastered by Mauricio Igagorri.
“Jamaica Time” is Sly Dunbar on drums; Robbie Lyn on keyboards; Adam Topol (Jack Johnson) on percussion; Randy Cooke (Smash Mouth, Kelly Clarkson, Five for Fighting, Melissa Etheridge) on additional drum kit and percussion; Steve Fekete (Gwen Stefani) on electric and acoustic guitar.
Steel drum signaling a reggae direction, and Eddie sings of another way of getting by – by looking to nature and the mountains, and letting your “troubles roll out with the tide.” As for the rat race of society, “no one ever wins that race, they’re just slowly dying.” A song of hope, ease and optimism you feel in the music itself. This song is dedicated to Jimmy Buffett.
Let me welcome you to “Jamaica Time,” where the rhythms of the island and the spirit of Jimmy Buffett intertwine. In this homage to the legend, I invite you to embark on a musical journey that celebrates the essence of Jamaican culture and the beauty of living in the moment. Let the melodies transport you to a place where time slows down, and every beat is a reminder to embrace life’s blessings. Through this record, we pay tribute to the vibrant soul of Jamaica and the timeless wisdom of living in the now. Join me, Eddie Witz and the Most High, as we spread the message of love, unity, and the joy of being on “Jamaica Time.” – Eddie Witz
