Primitive Ring “Lies From the Other Side”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Primitive Ring’s song “Lies From the Other Side” from their forthcoming album self-titled set for release on May 15 via The Red Records. The album was recorded and produced by Mark Rains.
“Lies From the Other Side” is Bert Hoover on bass and vocals; Charles Moothart on guitar and vocals; and Jon Modaff on drums.
As Charles Moothart tells us, “‘Lies From the Other Side’ is a fast paced blast that encapsulates the battle to keep paranoia and distrust at bay. With so much disinformation and misinformation and manipulation in the modern social landscape, it is exhausting to try to filter out the blatant lies coming from all directions. On one hand, this creates a landscape of us vs us within society that is completely destructive and detrimental to the unity of humanity. On the other hand, us vs them with legitimized powers attempting to “weaponize their affluence so they can incite violence” … violence can be literal physical violence against the people as well as violent undermining of the peoples’ infrastructure. We could say peace and love will prevail, but this song is not that. This is more of a power to the people kind of joint with the hardwired vibrations of collapsing moral grounds.”
Primitive Ring has given us food for thought, for sure. On the heavier side of the genre, this song hits the bulls-eye on the situation we are all in right now.
