Rosedale Junction – “Digin’ Up the Turnips”
Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Rosedale Junction’s song “Digin’ Up the Turnips” from their recently released album Cornflakes and Coffee. The album was produced by Toby Soriero; and engineered, mixed and mastered by Alex Allison.
“Digin’ Up the Turnips” is Joel Jorgensen on vocals; Toby Soriero on guitar, bass, resonator, banjo, and percussion; Phil Madeira on accordion; Jim Riley on drums; and Vito Salvatore Gutilla on violin.
This song pulls you in quick and there are zydeco accordion overtones and it’s contagious as all get out. Have fun as you whirl and dance. The chorus is uproarious too. This video was produced by Toby Soriero. As Toby tells it: “I like to have fun with some of my songs and “Diggin’ Up the Turnips” is one of those songs. It’s an old school, foot-tappin’ country/blue-grass/zydeco/hoedown number intended to get people dancing and clapping their hands.”
