LoveSeat – “The Old Me”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of LoveSeat’s song “The Old Me” from their forthcoming album Our Way, which is set for release on April 25. This song will be available on April 4. The album was produced and engineered by Ezra Idlet in Trout Studios in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
LoveSeat is folk musician husband/wife duo Bill “Poss” and JJ Passalacqua, who maintain their musical home and are foundations in the musical community in Effingham, Illinois.
“The Old Me” is Keith Grimwood on electric bass; Bill Passalacqua on acoustic guitar, vocals, and whistle; Oliver Steck on accordion; and JJ Passalacqua on vocals.
This is a whimsical, easygoing and charming waltz and country duet with each of the partners offering “now she lives with an old man with a bent back and old hands / he’s in love with the old me, full of dreams and a size 3, playing music full blast in my car flying fast, and nothing to lose.” The story is traded back and forth at an easy pace, and the accordion adds a nice, timeless and classic touch.
I was literally walking past my wife’s dresser and saw an old picture of me when I was young and vital. This quickly became our most beloved and requested song. – Bill Poss
