roger weeks – “Caught in the Chaos”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of roger weeks’ song “Caught in the Chaos” from his forthcoming album. The song was produced by Sam Woodbury; mixed by Mike Pan; and mastered by Alberto de Icaza.
“Caught in the Chaos” is roger on vocals, and Sam Woodbury on guitar, piano, and drums. The song gives off a fireside glow type of warmth and vibe, as roger sings of unconditional support and weathering life’s storms. This song is a vow to always be there, as a buffer from the pains of the past, delivered in the most heartfelt of styles: “You said / You’ve been inside for awhile / Can I take you away? / And try and make you smile / A pair of lonely hearts running in the sun / Burning our bridges / So we can’t get back to where we started from.”
“Caught In The Chaos” is about two people lost in the storm of their relationship, struggling between holding on and letting go. Recorded to sound as if I’m playing just for you by the fire, it carries a warmth and vulnerability that I hope captures the way love and lust can pull us into staying in an imperfect relationship, with the line ‘The world might be ending and I wanna be there for you’ expressing that desire to hold on through the chaos. I teamed up with the amazing Your Friend Jupiter to create this video, with Ryan Levine cast as my love interest. Filmed in Nashville, TN, creating this video was an incredibly healing experience for me—by the end, I was finally able to accept the loss of someone I deeply loved, and that emotional journey is woven into every frame. – roger weeks
