Dean Mueller – “I Don’t Live There Anymore”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Dean Mueller’s song “I Don’t Live There Anymore” from hie forthcoming album, which is due to be released next fall. This song will be available on July 19th. The album was produced by Kevin McKendree and recorded at The Rock House in Franklin, Tennessee.
“I Don’t Live There Anymore” is Dean Mueller on vocals and acoustic guitar; Kevin McKendree on keyboards and background vocals; Jason Wilber on electric guitar; Dave Jacques (John Prine) on bass; and Kenneth Blevins (John Prine) on drums. It’s ideal when we, as humans, can close certain doors behind us, compartmentalize and move on. With a wistful “two doggies in the yard, living the dream …” Dean is able to then make the turn to let go of the pain that comes from walking down memory lane: “I don’t live there anymore, I’m standing all alone, I feel sadness that’s for sure, there ain’t no magic cure, but, I don’t live there anymore.” Arranged in a folk rock style, and featuring John Pines rhythm section, it’s immensely pleasing and cathartic.
It was really a pivotal moment for me to not be mad, sad, or angry and think, ‘They destroyed my work and the spirit of the house, but hey—I don’t live there anymore.’
Whenever emotions like that come around, I figure it’s a good time to write a song. – Dean Mueller
