Lonesome River Band – “Nothin’ Comes To Mind”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Lonesome River Band’s song “Nothin’ Comes To Mind,” from their forthcoming album The Winning Hand, scheduled for release on June 14. The album was produced by Lonesome River Band; recorded, mixed, and mastered by Clay Miller with post production by Clay Miller and Jeff Collins at Crossroads Studios in Arden, NC and additional mixing by Scott Barnett.
“Nothin’ Comes To Mind” is Sammy Shelor on banjo and vocals; Jesse Smathers on acoustic guitar and vocals; Mike Hartgrove on fiddle; Adam Miller on mandolin and vocals; and Kameron Keller on upright bass. You might figure that being one of the most respected name in bluegrass circles over the past four decades is enough of a reason to get ahold of this album, and it certainly is, but to sweeten the deal, this song is exciting, timely, sassy, relevant and catchy. “When you left I found some paper and a brand new ballpoint pen and decided I’d sit down and to make a list of all the things I’d want to say to make you come back again… nothin’ comes to mind.”
“Nothin’ Comes To Mind” is a great tongue-in-cheek song about lost love written by one of our favorite writers, Adam Wright. Adam always has a way of making you smile in the midst of heartache. Our Adam Miller and Jesse Smathers present it in just that way! We hope you smile too! – Sammy Shelor
