Couldn’t Be Happiers – “The New Year Song”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Couldn’t Be Happiers’ holiday song “The New Year Song.” It was produced, mixed, and engineered by Doug Davis at Flytrap Music Production studio, and mastered by Anand Gan.
“The New Year Song” is was written by Jordan Crosby Lee, and is Jordan on acoustic guitar and vocals; Jodi Hildebran Lee on vocals; Mike Bennett on saxophone; Kenny Butler on trumpet; Bernie Hall on trombone; Randall Johnson on upright bass; and Doug Davis on percussion.
It’s a countdown to puckering up, blowing on your kazoo, and a lot of wishes and expectations for the coming year. In a sea of holidays songs, this is a rare one: catchy, memorable, and focused on New Year’s Eve. “I hope you don’t sing the blues.”
I think this song captures the spirit of hope, anticipation, and revelry that often accompanies New Year’s. The duet-style harmonies, the horn section, and the lyrics all work together to create this joyful celebration of new beginnings, change, and little victories. We’re really proud of it and its potential to inspire listeners. – Jodi Hildebran Lee
