Rich Murray “It Smells Like Weed”

Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Rich Murray’s song “It Smells Like Weed,” co-written with Dane Clark, from his forthcoming album.  The album was also produced by Rich and Dane Clark.

Musicians on “It Smells Like Weed” are Rich Murray on lead vocals; Dane Clark on vocals and drums; David Langley on guitars and bass; Erik Scull on harmony vocals; and Inhale Sound Effects courtesy of Murray’s Midnight Tokers.

Rich Murray says, about the song, “Please don’t judge the song by the title. I am not endorsing the use of anything one way or the other, I am simply documenting my findings as I travel across America.” Thus the title: “It Smells Like Weed” everywhere I go.

This video was created by Tony D. Hicks with humorous feel-good drawings.

In a country blues style with rich and deep baritone underpinnings and a dance hall rhythm, Rich Murray offers a truthful observation about modern society. Everywhere you go, it does smell like week, doesn’t it?  “Colorado, Arizona, Minnesota and Missouri….” and there’s more.
