Adam Brodsky “Achy Breaky America”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Adam Brodsky’s song “Achy Break America” from his forthcoming album American Epitaph which is set for release on June 5th. This song will be available on April 3rd. This song was recorded at Retro City Studios and produced by Matt Muir.
“Achy Breaks America” is Adam Brodsky on acoustic guitar, vocals and harmonica; Jesse Lundy on electric guitars; Chris Bicksler on bass; Alec Meltzer drums and a touch of Rhodes organ.
As Adam says, this is “a jaunty lil rocker about America’s sad slide into Fascism.”
Bright harmonica sets the tone for this song from anchor in the Philadelphia music scene Adam Brodsky. It has a touch of the Philly area bounce with a hint of Irish folk songs in this antifolk comment on the state of America right now. “We were taught when we grew up that anyone could be the President, and it’s true for any fool that’s got about a billion to spend… I get an ache when I think about America… we was the good guys on the right side, at least that’s how they taught it to me.” Danceable and cryable all at once.
