Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Shannon Hudson’s song “Man of Your Dreams” from his forthcoming album. The album was produced by Shannon Hudson; mixed and mastered by Chris Bethea of Muscle Shoals Mastering.
“Man of Your Dreams” is Shannon Hudson on vocals; Jon Conley on guitar and fiddle; Dave Francis on bass; and Wes Little on drums. You know those opening measures that sound like the sunrise? That’s how this one starts. But then it takes a lyrical turn to thoughtfulness about the relative insanity of the social narrative that says there is a perfect person out there. “let’s just let it ride. I’ll lay here right beside you, until you open your eyes.”
I think, more than anything, this song is about authenticity. When I was younger – I probably did want to be the man of someone’s dreams, but that’s definitely not something I want to be these days.
