David Beck — “For Somebody’s Sake”

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of David Beck’s song “For Somebody’s Sake,” from the band’s forthcoming album David Beck’s Tejano Weekend Vol. 2, due to be released October 15.
David Beck’s Tejano Weekend Vol. 2 was produced, engineered and mixed by David Beck, and mastered by Evan Bradford.

“For Somebody’s Sake” is Dees Stribling on drums and percussion; David Herrera on accordion; Peter Huysman on keys; and David Beck on bass, vocals, electric quitar and bajo quinto.

The video was created by Texture Cinema; directed by Nolan Blair and Julia Renée; and edited by Nolan Blair.  Watch and listen and find your renewed appreciation for Tejano music on this video.  Enjoy the energy and optimism that David Beck’s music is drenched in.

“For Somebody’s Sake” is one of our favorite cumbias to play. It’s exciting and visceral. I was pretending to be John Lennon when I wrote and recorded this song, he was the master of hopeful aggression. This is the first video to include dancers, we asked some of our closest fans to come and be a part of the experience. We shot the video in a 1920’s school gym in Martindale, TX. It was such a blast. — David Beck
